Principles of a rotary screw compressor

L Series Rotary Screw Compressors

The CompAir “L” Series oil injected rotary screw air compressor combines high performance and low operating costs to provide reliable, economical compressed air.
Ease of installation and service make CompAir the best value in rotary screw air compressors.

Operating using slower rotation speed in the air end rotors, equipped with a 2-pole TEFC IP 55 energy-saving CEMEP CLASS EFF1 high efficiency motor and fitted with a modified, premium efficiency air end - these new compressors can deliver energy savings of up to 7.2% compared to other manufacturers.

This can cut energy bills by up to $2,000 per year and reduce annual CO2 emissions by up to 9,000kg, making a positive impact on both the bottom line and the environment.

Oil-Free & Oil-Less

Oil Free

Contaminated compressed air can result in expensive product spoilage. A CompAir oil-free compressor will eliminate oil-carry over in compressed air. The removal of oil from the compression process enables compressed air users to operate with maximum environmental efficiency.

CompAir's latest offering includes the introduction of the DH series, a new range of water-injected single screw compressors. Designed for applications where there is a need for high-quality 'active' air - air that comes into direct contact with the process it serves. The series is launched with 15, 22 and 37kW models.

Regulated Speed Screw Compressors

L Series

The CompAir LSR-Series of rotary screw air compressors match power consumption with air demand by incorporating a variable speed switched reluctance drive system of outstanding efficiency.

Free air delivery at stated working pressure and measured and tested in accordance with Pneurop/CAGI PN2CPTC2 and ISO 1217 Ed 3 Annexe C at the following reference conditions: * Air intake pressure - 1 bar a * Air intake temperature - 20ºC Noise level + 3 dB(A) according to Pneurop / Cagi test code
Inlet pressure = 1 bar unless otherwise stated

The screw compressor is a displacement compressor with pistons in a screw format; this is the predominant compressor type in use today. The screw compression element main parts comprise male and female rotors that move towards each other while the volume between them and the housing decreases.

The pressure ratio of a screw is dependent on the length and profile of the screw and of the form of the discharge port.

The screw element is not equipped with any valves and there are no mechanical forces to create any imbalance. It can therefore work at high shaft speed and combine a large flow rate with small exterior dimensions

Compression capabilities:

CompAir's Rotary Screw range operates between 4kw to 250 kW (5 to 535hp), producing working pressure at 5 bar to 13 bar (72 to 188psi).
